Getting My Own Meaning
My name is Adriana, which is very
common in Mexico when I was child, I didn’t like it because I thought that
everybody was angry with me. My name is long and everybody looked so angry when
they called by my whole name it didn’t sound the same way when they called my
twin brother, Agus, they just looked happy and so peaceful that it was I
thought until I grew up. Eventually I started using the nickname Ady. I like it
because it is short and friendly.
Now, that I am older I like my name because I
look serious and the name communicates that I am responsible. I got my name
just because my mother liked it. It is funny my older sister is named Diana and
she always makes fun of me. She said that I just got this name because it is
like hers and my parents didn’t spend any time thinking about an original,
special or unique name for me.
Finally, my name represents me. It made me
realize the meaning that you give by yourself is more important, when I think
about myself or my name, the first word that comes out is a strong woman and I
really love it.
Hi Adriana! Although your name is common in Mexico, it is special in America. You are the first person I know named Adriana. You are right. The meaning of our name is given by ourselves. I hope that you can be who you want to be - a strong woman.
ReplyDeleteHello Adriana. Although I also like short names, I think your name sound is perfect. My last name is too long, and I don't like it.
ReplyDeleteHello Adriana. Although your name is common in our Latin culture, I believe your name is cool. In my family it is also very frequent that they give us the name just because they like it, and they don't think about giving us a name because of its meaning or the roots of the name.
ReplyDeleteHi Adriana, I think you must a strong woman. No matter what your name, just be yourself~
ReplyDeleteTo me your first name doesn't sound angry in English and I actually like the way it is pronounced. :p
