Gift from My Grandfather

Gift from My Grandfather
My name is Gulnur Zhanibek, and I am from Kazakhstan. It is the country where people pay special attention to the name of a person. It is also the country where people believe one’s name can influence through a person’s life. Usually when babies are born, their grandparents give the newborn a name. Just like that, my mother’s father gave me a name.
My grandfather is super diligent person. His name is Siezd, and it means in Russian congress. In Russia hused to work as an electro engineer in Mongolia for many years, and then, he became a chief of the power station. After that, he worked in Russia as an envoy of energy service from Mongolia. These days, he is retired, and at home with my lovely grandmother.
The meaning of my name in Kazakh is flower and ray. The reason he called me Gulnur is because my mother’s sisters name is Gulmerei, and my grandma’s older sisters son’s name is Nurbek. I think he wanted to connect the relatives and took first words from their names.

In conclusion, I agree with Kazakh people that one’s name can affect through person’s life. My evidence is my grandfather’s name, so I think my name is gift from him. I love my name even if it sounds strange in English, and I will always be thankful for my grandfather.
