My Unusual Name

There are three Chinese words in my full name. They are “Liu” “Yi” and “Weng”. Let me tell you how different my name is. “Weng” is my family name. In China, few people have this family name and most of them are in the small town of my hometown. It is also why my friends can remember

my name quickly when they first hear my name. “Liu” is one word of my first name. It means

willow in Chinese, a kind of tree. This is also the reason I like willow tree, and willow trees symbolizes spring and vitality. “Yi” is another part of word in my first name. There is not that

much meaning about it, but I have a big family, and all my cousin and sisters of my generation

have this word in their name as mine. This way of naming is like a tradition in our little village.
“It is a sign of continuity.” My dad said. This is a kind of sustenance for the prosperity of the family.

I never think it is a bad thing that my name is different. on the contrary, just because of the unusual name, I can be a different person that other people can remember me easily.
